As we learn their stories we are exposed to their inner dialogue and thought process. I liked how the four characters were so different to each other in terms of personalities but also in terms of age, physical and mental health. The chapters are focused on four main characters and their stories. The entire book is set in the cafe and we are introduced to the coffee owners, the staff and the regulars. For example, you can go back in the past but can’t change the future. But like with everything there are specific rules to the time travel. The coffee shop Cafe Funiculi Funicula has been around for over 100 years and has not been serving just coffee but also also can transport people to the past or into the future.
